Therapy can be helpful for a number of life's issues: depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, family riffs, life challenges, feeling lost, etc. But it's just sitting in a room talking, how can that help me? A fair point. But what therapy provides is a space for you to explore your life in new and profound ways, allowing us to find out the root of the problems you're facing and how to approach them with new insight and more adaptive behaviors. Studies have shown time and again that this therapeutic work causes significant improvements in mental health, and creates a better outlook on life. As humans, we have a natural instinct to seek out deep connection and understanding, and therapy offers just that.
The "therapeutic space" allows you to take off the "mask" that we often present to the outside world, and uncover our unconscious mind. Much of how we think and behave comes automatically, without deep, conscious thought. In the therapy room, we can slow down and unveil unconscious patterns and analyze core beliefs that may be destructive or holding you back, while also laying the groundwork for a more loving, accepting relationship to yourself, and an opportunity to create the a more fulfilling life.
